Gabrielle Skolnick
Psychotherapist for Individuals
Gabrielle approaches therapy with warmth, authenticity, and a deep respect for each patient's unique experiences and strengths. She believes the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the healing process and strives to create a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where patients feel seen, heard, and understood. With an approachable and compassionate presence, Gabrielle views therapy as a collaborative process grounded in the belief that patients are the experts of their own lives.
Gabrielle takes an integrative and individualized approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to each patient's unique needs, goals, and experiences. While emotional insight and self-reflection are important aspects of the therapeutic process, she also emphasizes helping patients develop practical tools they can apply outside of session to navigate everyday challenges with greater confidence and self-awareness. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based practices, and person-centered therapy to support patients in navigating challenges and creating meaningful change. Her areas of interest include anxiety, depression, life transitions, family conflict, self-esteem, relationship issues, boundaries, perfectionism, OCD, ADHD, addictive disorders, and eating disorders.
In addition to Gabrielle's areas of special focus, she is qualified and experienced in treating a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD, trauma, grief, burnout, couples and family issues, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, eating disorders, addictive disorders (including alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, and food), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dissociative disorders, psychotic disorders, chronic illness adjustment, sleep disorders, somatic conditions, work and career stress, identity and existential concerns, perfectionism, cultural and racial identity stress, and life transitions. Using an eclectic range of evidence-based approaches, she provides compassionate, individualized care tailored to every patient she serves.
Gabrielle has a strong foundation in mental health counseling through her training at New York University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Disabilities in Society from the University of Florida. Gabrielle is committed to creating a space where patients feel comfortable being themselves while developing greater self-understanding, confidence, and connection.
