Abigail approaches therapy with warmth, curiosity, and respect for each patient’s individual experiences and strengths. Her approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, offering both a supportive space for reflection and practical tools for meaningful change. Abigail helps patients recognize patterns, deepen self-understanding, and build upon their existing strengths while developing strategies for navigating difficult emotions, relationships, and life circumstances.
Abigail’s clinical work integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based Interventions, and Trauma-Informed Care. She is particularly interested in working with patients navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, burnout, substance use, relationship and family dynamics, and major life transitions. Abigail also has a special interest in supporting high-performing professionals and executives experiencing the pressures of demanding careers, achievement, professional identity, complex family responsibilities, and maintaining well-being in high-stress environments.
In addition to Abigail’s areas of special focus, she is qualified and experienced in treating a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD, trauma, grief, burnout, couples and family issues, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, eating disorders, addictive disorders (including alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, and food), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dissociative disorders, psychotic disorders, chronic illness adjustment, sleep disorders, somatic conditions, work and career stress, identity and existential concerns, perfectionism, cultural and racial identity stress, and life transitions. Using an eclectic range of evidence-based approaches, she provides compassionate, individualized care tailored to every patient she serves.
Abigail has a strong foundation in clinical social work through her formal training at Columbia University School of Social Work, where she specializes in Advanced Clinical Practice. She gained clinical experience at Bronx Regional High School, providing individual counseling to adolescents facing trauma and complex psychosocial stressors, conducting assessments, developing individualized interventions, and providing crisis support. Abigail has completed additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Beck Institute, addiction treatment through Yale University, grief and trauma treatment, and Psychological First Aid through Johns Hopkins University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with High Honors from the University of Michigan.
Prior to entering the mental health field, Abigail spent more than a decade in executive leadership and senior management roles, giving her a distinctive understanding of organizational dynamics, high-pressure professional environments, and the intersection of career, achievement, family responsibilities, and emotional well-being. She also volunteers as a court-appointed advocate for children and families in the foster care system.
