Amanda Lee

Psychotherapist for Adolescents, Adults, Couples and Families

Amanda approaches therapy with genuine curiosity and respect for each person’s unique story. She is particularly interested in helping patients develop a stronger sense of self by exploring how past experiences have shaped the way they understand themselves, relate to others, and navigate the world. Amanda believes that greater insight into these patterns can help patients make more intentional, authentic choices and create meaningful change.

Amanda’s approach is grounded in Psychodynamic Therapy and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Informed Practices based on each patient’s needs and goals. She works with adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, burnout, perfectionism, neurodivergence, and questions of identity and purpose. Before entering the mental health field, Amanda worked in investment banking and private equity, giving her a distinct understanding of how career demands, achievement, identity, and personal well-being can intersect.

In addition to Amanda’s areas of special focus, she is qualified and experienced in treating a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD, trauma, grief, burnout, couples and family issues, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, eating disorders, addictive disorders (including alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, and food), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dissociative disorders, psychotic disorders, chronic illness adjustment, sleep disorders, somatic conditions, work and career stress, identity and existential concerns, perfectionism, cultural and racial identity stress, and life transitions. Using an eclectic range of evidence-based approaches, she provides compassionate, individualized care tailored to every patient she serves.

Amanda has a strong foundation in clinical social work through her formal training at New York University’s Silver School of Social Work. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Amanda gained clinical experience at a New York City public high school, providing individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and restorative support to adolescents. She has also worked with neurodivergent elementary-aged students, supporting them in recognizing their strengths, building confidence, and developing greater self-efficacy.
