Meg Hoffman

Psychotherapist for Adolescents, Adults, Couples and Families

Meg takes a patient-centered, relational, and collaborative approach to therapy, creating a warm and nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, understood, and comfortable exploring challenges. She recognizes that meaningful change looks different for every patient and works collaboratively to identify patterns, build upon existing strengths, and develop new ways of navigating difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

Meg’s clinical work draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and is grounded in Trauma-Informed Care. She is particularly interested in working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, work and career stress, and major life transitions. Meg helps patients strengthen practical coping skills, develop greater flexibility in responding to difficult thoughts and emotions, clarify their values, and make choices that feel more aligned with the lives and relationships they want to build.

In addition to Meg’s areas of special focus, she is qualified and experienced in treating a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD, trauma, grief, burnout, couples and family issues, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, eating disorders, addictive disorders (including alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, and food), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dissociative disorders, psychotic disorders, chronic illness adjustment, sleep disorders, somatic conditions, work and career stress, identity and existential concerns, perfectionism, cultural and racial identity stress, and life transitions. Using an eclectic range of evidence-based approaches, she provides compassionate, individualized care tailored to every patient she serves.

Meg has a strong foundation in mental health counseling through her formal training at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Meg has spent several years in recruitment consulting, advancing into a leadership role working closely with professionals navigating career decisions, interviews, salary negotiations, and workplace transitions. This experience informs her understanding of how career pressure, achievement, professional identity, and major transitions can affect emotional well-being. She also has experience supporting college students with test anxiety and academic stress and working with middle-school students in an educational research setting.
