Natalia Tomczak

Psychotherapist for Adolescents, Adults, Couples and Families

Natalia approaches therapy with the understanding that being human is complicated. Her work begins from the premise that people cope in the ways available to them, and that those strategies sometimes stop serving them in the ways they once did. Natalia believes that understanding ourselves with greater honesty and compassion can create room for something different.

Natalia offers a warm, grounded, and nonjudgmental therapeutic space where patients can feel comfortable being themselves. She is genuinely curious about how each patient experiences the world and takes time to understand the experiences, relationships, and beliefs that have shaped them. Together, Natalia and her patients explore patterns that influence how they think, feel, and relate to themselves and others, helping patients develop deeper self-understanding, greater self-trust, and more freedom in how they respond to life.

Natalia takes an integrative, trauma-informed approach grounded in an Existential-Humanistic perspective. She considers each patient’s lived experiences, cultural context, and intersecting identities when shaping treatment and draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), tailoring her approach to each patient’s individual needs and goals.

Natalia works with adults navigating life transitions, identity exploration, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and relationship challenges. Through her work at Silver Hill Hospital, she has experience supporting individuals across varying levels of acuity, from everyday emotional and relational challenges to more complex psychiatric presentations.

In addition to Natalia’s areas of special focus, she is qualified and experienced in treating a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD, trauma, grief, burnout, couples and family issues, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, eating disorders, addictive disorders (including alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, and food), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dissociative disorders, psychotic disorders, chronic illness adjustment, sleep disorders, somatic conditions, work and career stress, identity and existential concerns, perfectionism, cultural and racial identity stress, and life transitions. Using an eclectic range of evidence-based approaches, she provides compassionate, individualized care tailored to every patient she serves.

Natalia has a strong foundation in mental health counseling through her formal training at New York University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Southern California. Her experience spans outpatient psychotherapy, residential mental health care, psychoeducational programming, and organizational leadership, contributing to her understanding of patients within the broader contexts of their relationships, identities, environments, and life experiences.
