Clinical Director
Location: New York, NY
Position Summary
The Clinical Director provides clinical leadership, oversight, and strategic guidance to ensure the
delivery of high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based behavioral health services. This role oversees
clinical staff and interns, maintains regulatory compliance, and supports the organization’s
operational and strategic objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide clinical oversight and supervision to therapists and interns through individual and group
supervision, in accordance with licensing board and university requirements.
• Oversee the delivery of clinical services to ensure interventions are evidence-based, ethically
sound, and tailored to patient needs.
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of clinical staff and interns, ensuring alignment with
organizational goals and standards of care.
• Review and monitor HIPAA-compliant clinical records maintained by supervisees to ensure
documentation quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to supervision and quality
assurance standards.
• Serve as the point of escalation for complex or high-risk clinical concerns, providing strategic
guidance on case formulation and ethical decision-making.
• Monitor patient retention and other key clinical metrics; prepare reports to identify trends and
recommend strategies to enhance engagement and continuity of care.
• Facilitate regular clinical team meetings and continuing education sessions to support
professional development, team cohesion, and adherence to best practices.
• Develop, implement, and enforce clinical policies and procedures to uphold standards of care,
ethical guidelines, and legal and regulatory compliance.
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of new clinical staff to ensure effective
integration and role readiness.
• Remain current on developments in mental health treatment, data management systems,
regulatory frameworks, insurance policies, and practice management technology.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to implement policy changes, lead quality improvement
initiatives, and contribute to strategic planning for the organization’s clinical and operational
growth.
Requirements
• Master’s degree in Social Work.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a psychotherapist in a behavioral health or
psychotherapy setting.
• Active and unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in New York, New
Jersey, and Connecticut, or eligibility to obtain licensure in all three states.
• Minimum of two (2) years of director-level experience within a clinical setting.• At least one (1) year of experience working in a group practice that hosted clinical interns, with
active involvement in the coordination and operations of the internship program.
• At least one (1) year of experience coordinating clinician schedules and overseeing onboarding
processes.
Compensation
Salary: $225,00 per year
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
